The Strong One-
She was so strong that nobody believed the truth spoken directly, turned to pleas for help-unanswered and denied. Preserving the ember of remaining dignity became what mattered to her, in the matter within matter.
Seeing so clearly how it came to this, challenged her will to exist. War without, war within. It all started with war. The Atomic Bomb, specifically. She was poisoned by nuclear waste, smoldering underground, in the water, in the air. The shit likely still exists in her hair.
First came cancer, the pilliage has not stopped. An onslaught of hell, began when she was a cop. She knows why she signed up, and stands on her truth. To protect and serve, with integrity was the mission. Mission accomplished, as her life was ravished in the fallout. ☢️
Two cancers, countless chronic illnesses, endless surgeries, a life enveloped in intractable pain that would bring a masterful Yogi to their knees-this is the reality she now sees: Waking every day under 3 tons of dirt and mud.
She spends her days with a fork, digging herself out. The cumulative exhaustion stole her ability to shout. Tell me, how is the ember still aglow-amongst the attempted predation, everywhere she goes? True colors are so, so clear. She sees so vividly, what others cannot bear to witness. Within and without.
Vulnerability is a bitch. Manipulation is a snitch, snitching on itself, everywhere it exists. Her mission still stands, ANCHORED in the sand. Sand is far from weak. Sand trains the brave to remain strong, to ground into the truth of one’s unique life song.
Containing oceans is no small feat. Deep in the sand she’ll continue to dig her feet. As the tide comes and goes, she’s buoyant, and lovingly held. Her ember is as eternal as nature, because it’s who she is. Atomic, and more. Too nuanced for most to interpret. Unapologetically.
Sharks in human clothing abound. Recognize. Her mind is sound.
