The Fountain of Youth…humanity has been searching for it as long as time (and gravity) have existed. If anyone find’s it-let me know!! Meanwhile, I’d like to share with you some of my “Fountain of Youth” tricks 🙂 Keep in mind I am not a Medical Doctor, I am speaking from my own experience.
Hydration, I believe is of primary importance in keeping the skin healthy and youthful appearing. Drinking quality water daily is of utmost importance. Remember, the skin is the largest organ in the body. Water and good nutrition are the first steps to good skincare.
MOISTURE. A good moisturizer is essential, even if you have oily or combination skin. My go to moisturizer is 100% pure Castor Oil.
Castor oil is super moisturizing, and does not make me break out. I use it on my hair, face, and body. Do you ever have puffy under eyes? Mix a little bit of Castor Oil with pure Turmeric. Turmeric is a spice, and it is known to be one of the most anti inflammatory foods on the planet. The mixture can be used as a moisturizing treatment, and it helps with under eye puffiness. Leave the mixture on your face for about 30 minutes, and then wash with a gentle cleanser, and re moisturize with a quality moisturizer. You can also use Castor Oil as an overnight facial moisturizer!!
If you wear makeup, it is essential that your first step in makeup application is a good moisturizer, suited for your skin type. I recommend one with a SPF 15- minimum. I love Olay products. I have been using them for years, and the moisturizers are very easy to wear under your makeup.
Back to nutrition…Clean eating is optimum for healthy skin, but I know we all fall short at times. Keep in mind that Vitamin C is very good for skin health. There are numerous dietary supplements on the market for skin health. I recommend doing your own research to see what you think might benefit you, personally. Here is what I have recently started taking:
I honestly do not know if it is beneficial yet, as I have only been taking it for about a week. I will post an update later on Collagen Supplement-Benificial or Not.
The tips I have provided are nothing new under the sun. Just a reminder that even if you are facing Chronic Illness, you can still use simple techniques to help your skin remain youthful appearing. Stay beautiful my fellow Chronic Illness and Beauty Warriors!! 😘

Castor oil then? I must try it sometime. I have Turmeric in my spice cupboard, so I’d like to try that paste. Ive been using E45 moisturising lotion for face and body / hands. I don’t know if you can buy it in the US? And Argan oil for my naturally curly thick – and chemically damaged! – hair. Water and green tea are the healthiest drinks (no sugar); I like cammomile tea at bedtime. Did you know that the body doesn’t store vitamin C? I heard that whilst living in Germany where they have done extensive research on herbs and vitamins (it’s actually a legacy of the Nazis!; a silver lining of their evil atrocities. They wanted a medicine to call their own). This Collagen with the amino acids I’ve never tried. But I do like the female helping herb: Evening Primrose Oil (I get terrible period cramps and PMS where I get very low. This seems to help). I try to eat lots of garlic and onions because they’re great for the immune system, lungs, blood. If you can eat it raw, the better (I can’t stomach that, myself). I’m a fan of herbs and have books on them. 🙂 Nice post my friend. xoxo

Aw thanks friend. I figured it was time to lighten things up for a moment.I don’t know about the E45 is available here, but now I’m curious!! 🙂 If you use Argan oil. In your hair, you might be very impressed with Castor Oil, which I prefer. As I’m sure you know, it is trial and error. Yes, I’m aware that Vit C is water soluble, therefore it passes through the urine 😉 Thanks for the reminder, I just might start using evening primrose again. I need to ask the doctor though, because my blood clots…I’ve been on and off of raw diets, but my GI system is so dysfunctional currently, that THERE IS NO WAY, lol. I’m a major fan of herbs too, and essential oils. I used to have tons of books that have somehow diminished over the years…¿? Thanks for commenting chicka. How are you doing? Xoxo

I’ve had an ok day today after weeks of pain flare ups. 2 weeks ago I went to the doc with just my walking stick, and en route to the pharmacy to collect my meds, I ran out of steam! Was clinging onto the walls, zombie-ing along. Got stuck at the pharmacy. I should have taken my scooter but then I need John to carry it for me as I can barely lift anything now… I’ve managed to get the sick note, or medical certificate, finally from the docs to send to the relevent gov. dept. so I can receive some income again (I’m not able to work in a conventional job. Am trying to train as a designer so I can work for myself, teaching, part time textiles / embroidery.). It’s weird, isn’t it? living this kind of half life, when we’ve been used to one with work and going out and friends. I’m sincerely glad to have met you too 🙂 You take care, speak soon. Hugs. xoxo

Well, unfortunately my stomach won’t allow me to take it every single day, because of existing conditions, but I feel like my nails are growing faster, and my skin is looking pretty healthy!! Thanks for asking!! 💚
